Both lanes re-opened on H-3 Freeway after accident

    A tow truck removes a vehicle involved in a early morning accident inside the Kaneohe bound H-3 tunnel.

Honolulu police re-opened both lanes of traffic on the H-3 Freeway by about 9 a.m. this morning after a truck and car collided in the Hirano tunnel.

Both Kaneohe-bound lanes of the H-3 tunnel were closed shortly after 7:30 this morning after the truck overturned. One lane re-opened at about 8 a.m.

Tow trucks and ambulances were summoned to the scene.

One person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in serious condition.
