A 21-year-old female bicyclist who appeared to be in her 20s died after apparently being struck by a Roberts Hawaii tour bus at Dillingham Boulevard and Waiakamilo Road at 3:57 p.m. today.
The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to a trauma center in critical condition, said Bryan Cheplic, a spokesman for the city Department of Emergency Services. Police said the woman later died.
Witnesses said the woman was riding a bike in the crosswalk headed townbound on Dillingham when the tour bus turning right off Dillingham hit her.
Police closed the makai-bound lanes of Waiakamilo Road south of Dillingham while they conducted an investigation.
