Kanani Danielson put down 15 kills and No. 6 Hawaii needed just 60 minutes to sweep UC Irvine 25-17, 25-13, 25-17 tonight in the Verizon Wireless Volleyball Challenge at the Stan Sheriff Center. Elizabeth Ka’aihue had 15 of the Rainbow Wahine’s 56 digs.
Hawaii (7-1) takes on St. Mary’s (7-2) tomorrow for the tournament championship. The Gaels swept San Diego State 25-19, 25-15, 25-17 in today’s earlier match.
Kari Pestolesi led UCI with 8 kills.
