Waikiki and nearby areas lose power for about an hour
Hawaiian Electric Co. restored power to customers ranging from areas in Waikiki to Kapiolani this morning.
The outage was reported at about 10:30 a.m. HECO restored power within one hour, said HECO spokesman Darren Pai, who said he did not know the number of customers affected.
The areas affected by the outage were portions of Waikiki, McCully, Moiliili and Kapiolani.
The cause remains under investigation, Pai said late this afternoon.
