City to resurface one of Wahiawa’s main roads

Crews are due to begin resurfacing one of the main roads running through Wahiawa over the next 14 months.

The city said today the $7.2 million resurfacing of California Avenue will ensure the road is safe and smooth for years to come.

The work will cover California Avenue from its east end to Kamehameha Highway.

The project is expected to include the demolition and removal of existing pavement and the construction of new concrete slabs, curbs and gutters.

Work will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Concrete work is expected to begin this week.
