U.S. Rep. Charles Djou has nominated 17 Hawaii residents to attend four U.S. service academies.

Djou said yesterday he had named Micah Uchida, Hong Yin Tam, Collin Williams, Clark Chen and Timothy Lee to the Army’s West Point.

He also nominated Alfred Ikeler, Benjamin Welch, Marc Eneri Samonte, Andrew Collins and Danielle Torres to the Naval Academy.

Djou tapped Rachel Roley, Ayesha Hein, Kyle Nakatsuka, Jonathan Kim, Sirena Reyes and Ariel Ryon to the Air Force Academy.

He named Emily Schlack to attend the Merchant Marine Academy.

The nominees still must be reviewed by each school. Generally, at least one of the nominees to each academy will be offered admission.
