Pro golfer, Derek Lamely makes a call out of the rain after the Sony Open in Hawaii Pro-Am is canceled this morning because of the weather.

Rain caused the cancellation of the Sony Open in Hawaii Pro-Am and the closure of all city golf courses on Oahu this morning.

A PGA Tour spokesman said the Pro-Am scheduled to tee off this morning was canceled because of the driving rain that enveloped the Waialae Country Club.

The Pro-Am will not be made up as the four-day tournament is scheduled to begin Thursday at 7:10 a.m. when the first groups of pros begin competition.

Fifty-one  teams of PGA Tour pros and their partners had been scheduled to play today.

The city also announced that all city golf courses are closed today because of the inclement weather.

The Ala Wai, Pali, Ted Makalena, Kahuku, West Loch and Ewa Villages golf courses will be re-opened when conditions allow.

Some city parks were also closed today. Central Oahu Regional Park, Waipio Peninsula Soccer Park, Hans L’Orange Neighborhood Park, Wahiawa Botanical Garden Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden were closed by the city because of inclement weather.
