Fire damages 2-bedroom Maili house

Fire caused about $5,000 damaged to a two-bedroom house in Maili early this morning.

The three men who live there put out the blaze by the time firefighters arrived, said Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman.

It appears the fire began in one of the bedrooms of the house on Palakamana Street, Seelig said.

The American Red Cross Hawaii chapter was called to provide shelter for the residents, one of whom has a pre-existing medical condition, Seelig said.
