The Maui County Office on Aging has selected Jim Crowe, 78, and Adele Rugg, 66, as the county’s recipients of the 2011 Outstanding Older American Awards.

Crowe has mentored parolees through Maui Economic Opportunity’s reintegration program, ministered at Saint Rita’s church and served on the board of the Kula Community Association.

Rugg has raised money for the Maui Nurses Scholarship Foundation and served as president of the Kiwanis Club and was on the Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs.

“They have served the community in almost every way that you can serve,” Mayor Alan Arakawa said.
