Police arrested a 15-year-old Kapolei boy today after he allegedly offered his grandfather a car wash as a pretense to steal the vehicle.

According to police, the suspect, who lives in the same household as the victim, offered to wash his grandfather’s truck Saturday. After completing the task, he asked the victim for the keys to the vehicle so he could return it to the carport.

Once in possession of the keys, the boy took the vehicle and did not return until Sunday morning. He was arrested at the scene for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
