S. Korean visitor drowns in Waikiki

A 68-year-old South Korean visitor drowned early Tuesday morning in Waikiki.

Police said the man was found unresponsive in the water at a Waikiki beach at 3:32 a.m. He was taken to the hospital where he died. No foul play is suspected, police said.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Jongtae Kim of Kyung Nam, South Korea.

An autopsy showed Kim drowned, the examiner said.
