Honolulu Fire Department personnel retrieved the body of a man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, from the Ala Wai Canal near Paoakalani Avenue this morning.
The body, which was recovered about 20 to 30 feet off the side of the canal, had no obvious signs of life and was turned over to Emergency Medical Services and Honolulu police, according to HFD spokesperson Capt. Terry Seelig.
Police are investigating the case as an unattended death.
