    University of Hawaii Warrior football player Bryant Moniz worked to escape the grasp of UC Davis Aggies Brock Galvin and Kevyn Lewis.

University of Hawaii quarterback Bryant Moniz rode a record-setting passing night to Western Athletic Conference offensive player of the week honors, the WAC office announced today.

Moniz passed for an NCAA record-tying seven touchdowns in the Warriors 56-14 victory over UC Davis. Moniz completed 30 of 40 passes for 424 yards, a UH record for passing yardage in the first half.
 
He did not play in the second half.
 
Fresno State linebacker Travis Brown was named the defensive player of the week and teammate
Kevin Goessling was honored as the special teams performer.
 
Brown, had 11 tackles in Fresno State’s 48-24 win at Idaho. Goessling made all six of his extra point attempts and two 48-yard field goals.
 
Linebacker Corey Paredes was UH’s nominee for defensive player of the week.
