Margaritaville casino opens at Flamingo in Vegas

LAS VEGAS >> Parrotheads of Jimmy Buffett have a new place to drink blended cocktails and gamble in Sin City.

Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo was set to open Saturday on the Las Vegas Strip with 22 tables, 220 slots and a new bar connected to the musician’s restaurant of the same name.

The opening comes two weeks before a grand opening featuring the "Cheeseburger in Paradise" icon himself along with an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for largest margarita.

Flamingo President Rick Mazer says the casino was built in space that was previously a steakhouse and a narrow hallway leading to the rest of the Flamingo.

Mazer and Margaritaville Holdings executive John Cohlan say the licensing deal will give the Caesars Entertainment Corp. property a fresh front on the Strip.
