The two ewa-bound lanes of North School Street were reopened between Kamehameha IV Road and Ahonui Street this morning after Board of Water Supply crews repaired a 16-inch water main that cut off water service to 30 customers and  disrupted traffic in the area since Thursday.

The work was delayed by the proximity of other underground utility lines, Board of Water Supply spokeswoman Tracy Burgo said.

“The BWS thanks the community and area motorists for their patience and cooperation during this repair job,” Burgo said in a statement.

The customers who were without water had their service restored Saturday afternoon but road repairs lasted through the evening.

The break occurred at 2255 North School Street.
