» 98-1616 Hoolauae St.: The Matias family proudly shows off a collection of holiday figures collected over nearly 40 years, including a Nativity scene, Santa, airbrushed cutouts of popular children’s characters from "Sesame Street," as well as Barney, Dora the Explorer, Hello Kitty, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and more. At least eight other homes on the street are also lit up with decorations.
» 98-1603 Kaahumanu St.: Decorating their house each year for more than 30 years, the Benozas build upon their tradition with new additions of a carousel, balloons and more, including a mechanical Santa and Mrs. Claus, trains, reindeer and candy canes.
» 99-149 Kulina St.: The Andres family proudly presents Aiea’s own version of the new Aulani Resort through a Disney-themed display filled with Mickey Mouse and Friends. Also featured are Hello Kitty, dinosaurs and Juicy Couture trees on a street where neighboring homes also get into the spirit of decorating.

» 575 to 595 Hahaione St.: Welcome to an enchanting Candy Cane Lane, a joint effort of the board and residents of Mariners Village 2. The entrance begins at 575 Hahaione St. Follow the fun-filled path of twinkling lights in the hedges, and on the way you’ll meet Santa, his reindeer, a snowman, a penguin and others.
» 1080 Kaumoku St. (Mariner’s Ridge): Jeff Jersets and his spirited neighbors spread holiday cheer on this magical street. Jersets’ "larger-than-life" display consists of a 4-foot-tall star perched on the rooftop and several 6-foot candles and 8-foot nutcrackers that will be lit from about 6 p.m. until midnight through mid-January.
EWA BEACH
» 91-6523 Kapolei Parkway: It’s show time at the Watanabe home. Tune in to radio station 106.5 FM for a synchronized "Christmas Light Show" consisting of 38,000 lights, a 20-foot "mega" Christmas tree with a 3-D star, snow-falling lights, a snow machine and an inflatable snow globe, along with a projection of Santa waving in the window. The family is accepting donations for Kuakini Foundation. Hours are from 5:30 to 10 p.m. daily through Dec. 26. Visit www.daohanachristmaslightshow.com.
» 91-1075 Kaunolu St: Check out the Bautistas’ eco-friendly display consisting of a Ferris wheel, a swing and moving characters from Disney, Pixar, Nickelodeon and others, all created primarily from recycled materials such as plastic and Styrofoam.

» 2331 Booth Road (Pauoa): The Ing family display pays tribute to Iraq war heroes and features Santa, Disney and other popular children’s characters, and Waldo of "Where’s Waldo?" fame. Money collected in the wishing well will be donated to charity.
» 1036 Hala Drive (Alewa Heights): Check out the unique chili pepper lights strung on papaya and pine trees, as well as moving reindeer, a snowman, icicles "dripping" from the roof and the decked-out purple porch. The home is located across from Maluhia nursing facility.
» 723 Hauoli St. (McCully): Visit the home of the Vares ohana as they help count down the days until Christmas through a special countdown display, as well as a Ferris wheel, gingerbread houses, a rocking horse with a paniolo, a ballerina bear, Santa and Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, singing snowmen, a Nativity scene and more.
» 2020 Hillcrest St. (Alewa Heights): The Bisho family continues its tradition by lighting up the yard and house. New this year are reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh, Santa on a train and more lighted sculptures.
» 2306 Kuahea St. (Palolo): View an impressive display filled with classic blow molds of holiday favorites including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman, nutcrackers, toy soldiers, a Nativity scene and more, courtesy of the Chivers family.
» 2672 Lowrey Ave. (Manoa): The Allens continue to light up the neighborhood after 31 years with an impressive display of more than 50 characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, several Santas, two Nativity scenes and more. Snoopy joins the mix this year to help spread the word of donating blood during this holiday season. Hours are 6 to 9 nightly.
» 1553 Miller St. (Punchbowl): Check out the display put on by Lindy Franca and family featuring several Santas, snowmen, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Garfield, a Nativity scene, a 5-foot wreath and more. In all, there are more than 60 lighted decorations.
» 1248 Wilhelmina Rise (Kaimuki): Happy holidays from the Akau, Kauffman and Andrade families, who spread cheer each year through their festive spread, which showcases inflatables of Frosty and Santa along with Disney characters, reindeer, candy canes and stocking cutouts, a Nativity scene, lights and a special heart in honor of the late Mr. Akau. Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. nightly.
KAILUA
» 1170 Akumu St.: Mike and PeeCee Brede deck out their home and yard with more than 10,000 colorful lights synchronized to Christmas music, and numerous inflatables (except on windy nights), ornaments, surprises and a few new things. Hours are 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 6 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Sundays.
» 255 Kuupua St.: "It’s a Small World" after all, at least at the Shire residence, where you will find a lighted display of children from around the world, united together to spread their message of peace on Earth. They are surrounded by "an array of light delights" including lollipops, candy canes, palm trees and Snoopy the Christmas Beagle.
KANEOHE
» 45-229 Nakuluai St.: The Vause family offers handcrafted wooden characters from "Harry Potter," "Kung Fu Panda," "Happy Feet," Dora, Disney, Pixar and Precious Moments, surrounded by lights and lots of Christmas cheer.
» 45-365 Namoku St.: Lois and Kimo Lake once again treat the public to a festive display of lights, a Santa on the rooftop, 8-foot-tall tin soldiers, a snowman, Snoopy on a boat and a 9-foot bear on a choo-choo train. New this year are a waterfall, large bells on the garage, bling-bling candy canes and a Bud Light tree. Their street, behind Castle High School, is lit up by other homes as well.
» 46-201 Ohala St.: The Rodrigues home is literally surrounded by Christmas cheer with 20 window-style light displays, 40 blow-mold figures such as Disney characters, Snoopy, toy soldiers, Taz and others, candy canes, angels, Santa’s sleigh, a gingerbread man, a Nativity scene and more at the front of the house, with assorted Snoopy light-ups and inflatables, and Santa on an airplane, on the side. Hours are 6:30 to 9 p.m. weeknights and until 9:30 p.m. weekends.
MAILI
» 87-147 Maliona St.: Visit a Christmas fantasy land at the Apela home, where you’ll find lots of inflatables including Mickey on a merry-go-round and a moving Santa on a bumper car, as well as a train track, penguin, reindeer, snowman, Grinch, manger and a few surprises.
PEARL CITY
» 98-1297 Hoohuali Place: Through their display, "Keiki Wonderland 2011: A Warm Mele Kalikimaka for Mickey and Minnie Mouse," Francis and Estrella Aki — who have decorated their home during Christmas for more than 30 years — show their aloha for the Aulani Resort’s newest residents, 6 to 10 p.m. nightly through New Year’s Day. Other "visitors" include Lilo and Stitch, Little Mermaid and Flounder, Dora and Boots, Thomas the Tank Engine Train and the Kalikimaka Hawaiian Orchestra Menehune Band.

» 94-226 Anapau Place: The Yoshida family’s "full-blown computerized light show" is quite impressive, but not because it comprises orchestrated lights that "dance" to holiday tunes or features a Christmas tree and star that change color and display text and graphics. It’s because the entire display is fully powered by solar photovoltaic panels that power the show all night. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. nightly. » Hopoe Place: Stroll through a fantasy winter wonderland on this magical street with nearly 30 decorated homes. Expect a lot of car traffic and pedestrians, and maybe even a tour bus or two.
» 94-313 Kiokio Place: Through their annual tradition of decorating, the Domingos enjoy bringing the spirit of Christmas into their neighborhood. This year they’ve added Dr. Seuss to the mix to go along with popular characters from Disney and Looney Tunes, Hello Kitty, Shrek, Smurfs, Power Rangers and others dating back 20 years.
