Visitor dies after being pulled from water off Maui

A Washington state man died after being pulled from the water where he was stand-up paddling near Charlie Young Beach in South Maui.

Maui police, firefighters, and lifeguards responded after Xivbin Zeng, 42, of Sammamish, Wash., was reported missing at 11:11 a.m. Friday, Maui police said. Rescue personnel found him unresponsive in the water near Charlie Young Beach at 12:15 p.m.

Zeng was taken in critical condition to Maui Memorial Medical Center, where he died.
