A man was in at the Queen’s Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed multiple times in the airport area Friday night.

Police said the man, 58, was at a fundraiser being held for a sports team at a field attached to the Fleet Reserve Association Pearl Harbor branch complex on Nimitz Highway and Valkenberg Avenue shortly before midnight. An argument broke out between the victim and two other men about 11:50 p.m.

The victim was stabbed several times, including to the upper torso, police said.

The victim was taken by federal fire-rescue personnel to Tripler Army Medical Center in critical condition. He was later taken to Queen’s for further treatment. 

The two suspects fled the scene.

The victim and the suspects are not believed to be military personnel although the incident occurred on Navy property, police said.

The case is being investigated as an attempted murder.

Meanwhile, Honolulu police detectives say a second stabbing occurred in Kalihi about 11:39 p.m. Friday.

Two men were drinking at a Lima Street address when they got into an argument, police said. One man, 37, allegedly stabbed the second man, 48, five times.

The victim was take by paramedics in serious condition to an area hospital but later updated to good condition.

The suspect was arrested for attempted murder, but police said he was later released. The victim in the case declined to cooperate with police, describing the incident as a “mutual affray.” As a result, the case is expected to be dropped, police said.
