A woman who drowned in a pool in Makiki over the weekend was identified as Kajal Patel, 25, of Honolulu.

The Department of Medical Examiner said Patel died of asphyxia due to drowning and ruled the incident an accident.

Two people were found floating in the pool at the Makini at Kinau at 1050 Kinau Street about 2 p.m. Sunday, fire officials said.

Tenants found a man and a woman in their 20s floating in the pool. A police officer and an emergency medical technician applied CPR to both of them before they were taken to separate hospitals.
