Man arrested for allegedly trying to cash stolen check

A 20-year-old man tried to cash a stolen check at a Kalakaua Avenue business and wound up getting arrested for several felonies.

The business notified police about the homeless man about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday and officers arrested him at 1734 Kalakaua Avenue for investigation of forgery, attempted theft, unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, and ID theft – all felonies. He was also booked for two contempt warrants.
