Police reopened Farrington Highway near Honokai Hale Tuesday afternoon shortly after closing one lane because of a brush fire on Leeward Oahu.

One lane was closed about 4:50 p.m. because of a fire burning 10 feet from the mauka side of the roadway, Ewa of the Honokai Hale subdivision, police said.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, and the road was reopened about an hour later.
