Parolee sneaks on San Diego plane before arrest

SAN DIEGO >> Officials say police arrested a parolee who broke through an emergency door opening to the tarmac at the San Diego airport and boarded a commuter jet bound for Los Angeles.

San Diego port spokeswoman Marguerite Elicone told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the man voluntarily got off the Sky West aircraft on Tuesday after a flight attendant did a head count. Police waiting outside arrested him.

Elicone says Marc Rory Duncan was taken to the San Diego County jail.

She says the 38-year-old man had been released from jail after serving time for theft only hours before he arrived at the terminal.

Elicone says the 27 passengers were taken off the plane and rescreened.

Airport Authority spokeswoman Katie Jones says the 11:16 a.m. flight took off at 1:05 p.m.
