    Outgoing Miss Hawaii Lauren Cheape crowned Miss Diamond Head Skyler Kamaka as the winner of the Miss Hawaii 2012 Competition Saturday at the Hawai‘i Convention Center. Miss Diamond Head Skyler Kamaka was named Miss Hawaii 2012 Saturday night.

She succeeds Miss Hawaii 2011 Lauren Cheape.

The top five finalists included:

>> Miss Kahala Moani Hara, first runner-up.

>> Miss East Oahu Serena Karnagy, second runner-up.

>> Miss Latina Hawaii Joleen Iwaniec, third runner-up.

>> Miss Waikiki Sarah Correia, fourth runner-up.

The top seven finalists included Miss Ala Moana Courtney Gaddis and and Miss Honolulu Carissa Kano.

The pageant, held at the Hawai‘i Convention Center, was broadcast live on OC16, which experienced some audio difficulties early on. Oceanic Time Warner Cable had the problem fixed within about 20 minutes.
