Man found floating in Ala Wai Canal in critical condition

Bystanders found a 33-year-old man floating in the Ala Wai Canal Wednesday night.

Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the man by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.

How he got into the highly polluted canal is unknown, EMS reported.

The man was found at about 8:24 p.m. in the area of Ala Wai Boulevard and Nahua Street, EMS reported.
