Pro Bowl fans should be prepared for rain Sunday afternoon as a cold front moves over Kauai and Oahu. But there’s still a question about how heavy the showers are going to be.

National Weather Service forecasters have issued a flood watch for Kauai County and Oahu starting Sunday morning.

But the heaviest rain on Oahu isn’t expected until late Sunday night into Monday morning.

The front is expected to reach Kauai Sunday morning, bringing heavy rain there. It will move over Oahu Sunday night into Monday morning.

Forecasters say Kauai and Oahu can expect some showers ahead of the actual cold front.

The forecast for Oahu calls for increasing cloudiness and isolated showers Sunday morning with passing showers, some locally heavy, Sunday afternoon.

It’s just not clear if the heavy showers will fall over Aloha Stadium while the Pro Bowl is going on.

Still, National Weather Service forecaster Anthony Reynes said: “Any activity on Sunday outdoors, we have to be ready for some passing showers through the afternoon.”
