Honolulu police are investigating an assault in Kalihi Sunday morning that sent a 55- to 65-year-old man to the hospital in critical condition.
The Emergency Medical Services Department said paramedics responded to the intersection of Dillingham Boulevard and Kalihi Street at about 4:49 a.m. and took the man to a trauma center.
A witness told paramedics that the suspect fled the scene.
