Isaac Savaiinaea, the state’s top college football prospect, signed with UCLA this morning ending several months of the drama over his choice of schools for the fall.

Savaiinaea, a 6-foot, 3-inch, 231-pound linebacker from Punahou School, chose the Bruins over Texas A&M in an announcement at the annual Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance national letter of intent signing day at the Sheraton Waikiki.

Savaiinaea was among 54 athletes in several sports signing letters that bound them to colleges in the fall.

Waianae defensive tackle Kennedy Tulimasealii (Hawaii), Saint Louis School defensive end Kamalei Correa (Boise State), Mid Pacific defensive end Titus Failauga (Oregon State), Saint Louis offensive lineman Reeve Koehler (Arkansas), Saint Louis linebacker Colton Goeas (Kansas), Aiea defensive end Ualesi Sale (Hawaii), Sant Louis receiver Jeremy Tabuyo (Texas A & M), Kailua defensive tackle Jeremiah Taleni (Pittsburgh), Mililani defensive end Dakota Turner (San Diego State) and Kahuku offensive lineman John Wa’a (Hawaii) were among the other top football prospects taking part in the ceremonies.
