Police arrested a 22-year-old man Friday for allegedly breaking into the home of a 21-year-old Waianae woman he once dated and allegedly assaulting her and an older woman.

Police said the woman awoke to find the man in her home rummaging through her things 5:33 a.m.

The man then allegedly assaulted her. When a 47-year-old woman in the home tried to intervene, he allegedly assaulted her, police said.

Police said the woman had a valid restraining order against him.

The man fled, but was later found and arrested at 9:05 a.m. on suspicion of first-degree burglary, violation of protective order, second- and third-degree assault and contempt of court.
