CSUN finishes off Hawaii in 4 in men’s volleyball

Freshman hitter Siki Zarkovic put down 15 kills and sophomore hitter Brook Sedore added 13 but it was not enough as the 11th-ranked Hawaii men’s volleyball team fell to No. 8 Cal State Northridge in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19, 25-15.

The Warriors dropped to 5-12 overall, 4-10 MPSF, when losing their fourth straight.

The Matadors (9-6, 7-6) got 15 kills from John Baker and seven blocks from Drew Staker. 

CSUN won the block battle 15-9.5, with eight blocks coming in the final two sets while Hawaii had just two. 

The Warriors next host No. 13 USC (4-9, 4-9) Friday and Sunday. The Trojans lost at No. 4 Stanford tonight 26-28, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21, 15-10.
