Hawaii County police made a routine traffic stop Saturday that eventually led to the arrest of three suspects in two separate cases.
A 3-year-old Hilo boy who died Friday afternoon after being run over by a pickup truck has been identified as Treston S.C. Crowley.
Hawaii County police said the boy was playing in the pickup truck when apparently pulled or knocked the truck into gear. As the truck rolled back in the driveway, he jumped out and was run over.
Fire rescue personnel took the boy to Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:31 p.m.
Police ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The family home is in the Eden Roc subdivision.
