Man who tried to jump into pool from apartment dies

  • The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 44-year-old man whose body was found Tuesday below the Pali Lookout as Richard Ferraro Jr. of Ewa Beach.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said a 20-year-old East Honolulu man who attempted to jump Sunday into a pool from the fourth-floor of a University area apartment building and missed died Monday.

The Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Quinn Kunitomo.

Kunitomo died of head injuries due to a fall, and his death has been ruled an accident.

Police said he jumped at about 2:40 a.m. at the Kalo Terrace Student Suites a block from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in front of two witnesses and landed on the pool deck.
