Hawaii island emergency sirens inadvertently activated


Emergency sirens across Hawaii island were inadvertently activated shortly before noon today while technicians were repairing the Hawaii Island Tsunami Warning Siren system, the police department said.

No emergency existed. The police department said it regrets any inconvenience or confusion caused by the sounding.
