Festival pioneers retake the stage

Dancers representing five decades of Miss Aloha Hula winners performed in Hilo Wednesday night during the Hoike exhibition, the traditional celebration held on the eve of the Merrie Monarch Festival hula competition. In this 50th year of the festival, Hoike performances held special historic meaning, with many past winners taking the stage at the Edith Kanaka‘ole Tennis Stadium.
