Crews worked overnight to repair a 12-inch water main that broke on Ala Moana Boulevard near Ena Road.

The work forced the closure of all Ewa-bound lanes of Ala Moana Boulevard

Police routed traffic around the water main break area to either Ena Road or Kalia Road.

Once the pipe is repaired, a paving contractor was to repair the roadway before Ala Moana can be completely re-opened.

As of 1 a.m., water service had been re-routed around the main break and restored to one customer, who had been without water.

The main broke at about 6 p.m.

The Board of Water Supply said the main was originally installed in 1949.
