Honolulu police detectives Monday night were investigating an unattended death near Yokohama Bay.

A passerby found the body and police received the call at 6:30 p.m. to investigate the death, said police Detective Victor Lau.

Lau said tonight that police were still at the scene investigating and there were few details.

Lau said the body was in the "boonies" and on the Makaha side of Yokohama Bay.

City Emergency Medical Services workers were initially called the scene, but the incident was later referred to police and the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office.
