The moon appeared to shine a little brighter and bigger overnight.

The so-called super moon was 14 percent larger than normal this morning as our celestial neighbor made its closest pass to Earth while full.

The moon came within 222,000 miles of Earth and turned full at around 1:30 a.m. Hawaii time.
