Police were looking for a suspect who drove an allegedly stolen truck through coconut trees onto Waikiki Beach early this morning and jumped into the ocean.
Police have charged the 43-year-old man who allegedly drove a stolen dump truck through Waikiki, hitting two marked Honolulu police cars before he tried to escape into the ocean Sunday morning.
Allen Pitts, who does not have local address, was charged Monday with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and two counts of first-degree criminal property damage. Pitts was being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.
