Police arrest Honolulu man in moped theft


Police arrested a 23-year-old downtown man Friday in connection with the theft of a moped last month.

Police stopped the man in the McCully area for a traffic violation and discovered that the moped was stolen between June 23 and 24. Upon a subsequent search, the officers found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia on the suspect.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, third-degree possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.
