NORTON SHORES, Mich. » A young woman and two brothers have finished a planned 80-mile paddleboard crossing of Lake Michigan from Wisconsin to Michigan.

Twenty-three year-old Craig Masselink, his 19-year-old brother Trent and their friend 21-year-old Ginny Melby left McKinley Beach on Sunday morning.

They were crossing to their families’ cottages in Norton Shores, Mich. An online tracking system shows them at the Michigan shoreline and a posting on a Facebook page for the trip says they finished this morning, ahead of schedule.

They took turns paddling while the other two rode in a 40-foot support boat. Melby’s mother and the Masselinks’ father were aboard.

The paddle aimed to raise money for the charity group Restore International.
