Solar power is coming to 7,500 homes at Aliamanu Military Reservation, Fort Shafter, Helemano Military Reservation, Schofield Barracks, Tripler Army Medical Center and Wheeler Army Airfield.

SolarCity will add up to 12.8 megawatts of generating capacity to the Island Palm Communities of base housing managed by Lend Lease Hawaii.

SolarCity has similar projects underway at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, for Navy Region Hawaii, and at other military installations on the mainland.

The new projects are part of SolarCity’s “SolarStrong” plan to provide solar power to up to 120,000 military homes in the U.S.
