Those who woke up before dawn or plan on staying up late may see shooting stars tonight.
The annual Perseid meteor shower is expected to peak after midnight tonight.
This year, the moon sets before midnight, which should make it easier a shooting star. But the weather forecast for tonight calls for cloudy skies, which could obscure the falling meteors.
It’s best to watch for meteors away from city lights. The shooting stars are most likely to be seen in the eastern sky near the constellation of Perseus.
The meteor shower happens every August when the earth passes through the debris from comet Swift Tuttle.
