A 17-year-old boy was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly setting off two explosive devices in the Aiea area this weekend, police said.

According to police records, a witness said she saw the suspect place a makeshift device on the pavement around 12:45 a.m. and leave seconds before it exploded.

Police said they found the teen around 1:30 a.m. and the witness identified him.

A second witness then came forward and said the boy exploded another device in the same area at around 12:10 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Police arrested the teen on suspicion of two counts of possessing prohibited explosive devices and released him pending investigation.
