9 displaced after fire destroys Pupukea house
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire early this morning that destroyed a house in Pupukea and displaced nine people.
The fire caused an estimated $250,000 in damage to the structure, $50,000 to its contents and $70,000 to two passenger vehicles, a truck and a motorcycle, said fire Capt. Terry Seelig. The fire started in a second-floor bedroom, he said.
No one was injured in the two-story house fire.
The fire was reported at 12:10 a.m. It took 35 firefighters 30 minutes to get the blaze at 59-542 Alapio Road under control at 12:46 a.m.
The American Red Cross is helping the displaced occupants.
