Kaiser Permanente started Monday 24-hour patient visiting hours at its Moanalua Medical Center & Clinic.

The medical center is the only hospital in Hawaii to offer open visitation hours seven days a week year round.

The new visitation policy, based on research that shows access to family and friends helps speed up the recovery process, lets the patient determine when, who and how many visitors they want.
