Two men arrested after shots fired in Puna residential area

Two Puna men are in Hawaii County police custody on suspicion of reckless endangering after police received reports of shots being fired Wednesday night in a residential neighborhood in Puna. 

No one was injured in the shooting. 

Shortly after 9 p.m. police responded to Nenue Street in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision, where they arrested 63-year-old Peter Lopes and 45-year-old Peter Lopes Jr., both of Pahoa.  Both men were taken to the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.
