A 46 year-old woman died today after she was run over by her own pickup truck in her Kaneohe driveway.
A Kahaluu woman died Wednesday afternoon after being run over by her own pickup truck in front of her house.
Police traffic Lt. Robert Towne said just after 2 p.m. the woman stopped her Toyota pickup truck on her steep driveway to unlock her gate at her home at 47-706 Halemanu St.
The truck started to roll, and she tried to stop it but was run over, Towne said.
She was taken by ambulance in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, where she died, authorities said.
The truck continued to roll and struck another home located at 47-704 Halemanu St.
Towne said police investigators are trying to determine whether she failed to secure her vehicle properly, or if there was some mechanical or other type of failure.
