An interfaith “Pray for Peace in Syria” vigil will start at noon Friday  at the Parish of St. Clement in Makiki with the ringing of the church bell.

Readings, prayer, music, and meditation will follow, and conclude at 1 p.m. with more bell ringing. Other Episcopal churches, the interfaith community, and the public are invited to attend the vigil at 1515 Wilder Ave.

The Rev. Elizabeth Zivanov of St. Clement said in a news release, “I hope that the spiritual energy that emanates from this group will have a positive effect on our leaders and on the Syrian government.”
