Kauai authorities have confirmed that the remains of a woman found last March in Hanalei are that of a 20-year-old Kauai woman who disappeared 34 years ago.

Nancy Baugh, was reported missing in June 1979 after her 27-year-old boyfriend, Paul "Sonny" Featherman, was found dead in their Hanalei home.

Prosecuting Attorney Justin Kollar and Police Chief Darryl Perry credit a joint Cold Case Task Force for revitalizing the case.

According to a news release Thursday from the prosecutor’s office, authorities believe Baugh was kidnapped and murdered.

Anyone with information on Baugh’s or Featherman’s murder is urged to call acting police Lt. Bryson Ponce of the Kauai Police Department at (808) 241-1681.
