Hawaiian Telcom today completed its acquisition of SystemMetrics Corp., a local data center, for $16 million.

SystemMetrics, which generates annual revenue of approximately $8 million, founded in 2011 and provides data center services to more than 400 small and medium-size businesses.

“We are really excited to close this transaction and take and important step in meeting our goal to be the preeminent data center services provider in the state of Hawaii,” said Eric Yeaman, Hawaiian Telcom’s president and chief executive officer.

SystemMetrics has 6,500 square feet of data center capacity, with room for expansion. The company becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hawaiian Telcom.
