A 21-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly stole a credit card and tried to use it at a Waikiki hotel on Monday.

Police said the owner of the credit card saw the suspect running out of his apartment Sunday morning. The 50-year-old victim reported the credit card and items were taken from his apartment.

On Monday, the victim got a call from a Waikiki merchant about the use of his credit card. The victim went to the business and identified the suspect as the man he saw leaving his apartment.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, second-degree identity theft and unauthorized use of personal information.
